Who needs news years resolutions anyway?

Right from the start I did say I didn't just want this blog to be about beauty, fashion and reviews.  The fashion is still to come! :)
I also wanted it to be about life style too.

This is a random off the top of my head post about something I feel quite passionate about.
I over hear and read many conversations about people not being happy with themselves and wish they were different.
They always say "I wish I ate more healthy", "I wish I could stop smoking"  or even just "I wish I did something better with my time but I've got no motivation".
I'm guilty of that last one!
Targets and goals are amazing but why wait til next new years to make it a new years resolution, why even wait til next month or even why wait til tomorrow?
I find from observations and even personal experience that setting yourself a goal that's too far in the future is sometimes a bad thing.
Because it means even though there's plenty of time to get ready and prepared there's always time to talk yourself out of it, when you get a negative thought in your head it can be the worst thing and can spiral.
"This will be my last peice of pizza/chocolate/cigarette" is sometimes a good way to think. .....but your always going to say that time after time.
My point of the post is; instead of waiting for a goal to come along just do it today!
Positivity is the way to go! Tell yourself every day your goal and how far you have come since...well even if its just an hour ago you've already reached a new goal!
Why wait around? The results will come sooner to you rather then just next week or next month!
Just do it now!
Believe in yourself! You CAN do it!

Your health is in your hands.

Health kicks!

I'm going to round it up in a few sentences. Lately I've seen things and experienced things that make me think we should all really take care of ourselves more because at the end of the day we can benefit so much from eating and drinking yummy healthy foods!

You in general will feel better!
You will sleep better!
Your skin will feel amazing!
Your hair will feel soft and shine!
Your mind frame will feel refreshed!

I look at a few health blogs and I try to take in more of the food side then the body image side.
I'd rather look at a statement or a bowl of fruit or a healthy lunch food than a slim body frame.
That's just personal preference and determination for me, due to the fact that like most, I'm trying to be positive about my body image and looking at someone who doesn't have a flabby belly or bingo wings makes me feel bad about myself. After all I am human!

I might hear you say "why is she writing this?" Well over the past year I've had my own health scares a few of which I'll write separate posts, this one is too much of a essay already to read already!
But my biggest one is that I'm not drinking enough water.
Because of this I get various water infections from time to time.

So, to stop these awful life ruining water infections I'm going to kick start a most basic health and life function!
Treat my body to more water! And healthy juices (mmm cranberry!)

To summarise....sometimes you might wonder "why do I get so many infections and colds?"
"Why is my skin really dull and dry?"
"My hair has been lacking it's usual luster and my conditioner isn't doing it for me anymore"
These might be your bodies way of telling you.....It needs more water! Fruit! Veggies!

Now I know I probably sound like your mum here but honestly,  If you look after your body, it will look after you :)

Listen to your body!

Graphics! A few changes?

Bit of content really just to let you know that I will be making some changes to my blog graphic wise!

I think a banner is a big yes for the blog, again not 100% sure on my blog name so hopefully that will come in time too.
As for all past post banners and headliners they will be changing too with less stock photos and more real photos :)

I'm exited for these changes and I hope you guys are too! I'm always looking at ways to improve my blog and the only way I can do that so far is by getting Influence by other fab blogs!

Lip care. Bacteria? Use your own!

Now, I know it's easy when a friend or work colleague brings out the trusty Vaseline,  to ask to use some just like if they brought out some chewing gum you would ask for some.
But before you go and stick your index finger in that tin, swirl it around and lather it on your lips.....
Think of the bacteria!
Infections!

Do you actually know if that person washed their hands after the bathroom, before they used that Vaseline?

My plain and simple story is a bit of....karma! If you would like to think of it that way.
In year 8 I kept a chap stick in my pencil case, one of those where you can get every flavour under the sun.
Didn't really do much for moisturising my lips but heck they sure tasted and smelt nice!
(BV -  Before Va saline!)
I used to suffer from dermatitis and impetigo around my mouth so this chap stick was just for me.
I had a 'friend' who asked for a pencil from my pencil case and I gave her my pencil case to choose, little did I know that she would go on to steal my chap stick!
Well..... A couple weeks passed and low and behold she started to develop a red rash around her mouth and a trip to the doctors and a course of anti-biotics ensued.
Let's hope she didn't steal or use anyone Else's chap stick or it would of spread like wild fire.

Lesson of the day always take your own form of lip care!

Brushes! The Good, the Bad and the Ugly!

Let's all be honest, we all watch youtube make up tutorials, look in fashion and beauty magazines. We go to the Cosmetic counters to try and find the brushes recommended and half the brushes they do seem so expensive!
So what do you do?
Well you would probably hunt around a bit, Amazon, eBay or various fashion sites trying to get a good deal.
See a 24 piece set for only £10? Or even a 37 piece set for only £20?! You would might even say to yourself "Wow that's so cheap! Bargain! I'm having that"
Well stop right there!! Put your debit card away and step away from the keyboard! There are in fact great brushes out there that don't sacrifice quality with quantity.

Sometimes the phrase 'too good to be true' usually means just that, It's TOO good to be TRUE!
It may seem amazing that you found a brush set for that fantastic price but in the end it might be that price for a reason.
This is why you should always be super selective when picking out brushes! At the end of the day they are part of your everyday make up routine so they have to be of good quality and have to stand the test of time and vigorous washes!

I was the victim of just this, scouring amazon for a professional make up set for a good price. A 32 piece set by Fräulein for only £15 from a amazon seller and if I'm honest I didn't even do any research. I got the brushes and they seemed like a good quality,  the bag they came in was a really nice black patented fabric and some of the brushes came with brush protectors on them.
I used the main brushes such as the big powder brush, eye brow brush, blush brush as well as various eye shadow brushes but a lot of them I didn't use because I either didn't need to or didn't know what or how they were used, seems like a waste of money for brushes I hadn't used!
I had this set for about a year now and after washing them once every two weeks or more I found that some of the bristles are falling out; Either into the water when washing or into my face after applying make up.
Good quality brushes should not do this!

Many Youtubers are just like you and wanted to buy cheap and easy brushes but may have had to learn the hard way, so you don't have to.
Again if you can't afford a brush do a substitute!
Who can afford a whole brush set from mac anyway?!
Do some research online, Read reviews!
At the end of the day you will save yourself a lot of money not having to buy replacements and not walking around with loose bristles on your face and neck.
